Author Gill, G. ThomasGill Thomas

I enjoy writing (and reading) mysteries. My favorite characters include John D. MacDonald's Travis McGee and Randy Wayne White's Doc Ford. If you notice any similarities between my work and theirs, I will be totally flattered. Currently, I'm reading Timothy Hallinan. If you're a mystery fan and are not familiar with his work, you should check him out.

My writing started in high school, but really, I was clueless to the mechanics of creating, building, and completing a novel, so I stopped writing for quite a while. Then poems started bubbling around in my brain, so I started writing them down. A few of them have been published on my blog, I am also poetry editor for a fine arts literary magazine called Conclave: A Journal of Character. Conclave is available via Amazon as well.

Then a novel took shape, and wow, it took first prize in the 2006 Florida Writers' Association Royal Palm Literary Award best unpublished mystery category. Unfortunately, there is not much demand in the literary world for WWII spy stories, so I set my hand to writing DOG ISLAND. In March, 2012, the wonderful folks at Oak Tree Press ( published the story.

Thank you for checking out my author page. I truly would like to hear from you, and I can be reached at
