Author Schneider, Ilene

Rabbi Ilene Schneider, Ed.D., one of the first six women rabbis ordained in the U.S., finally decided what she wants to do when she grows up. She retired from her day job to devote full time to writing.

She is the author of the award-winning Rabbi Aviva Cohen Mysteries, Chanukah Guilt and Unleavened Dead, and is working on the third book in the series, Yom Killer.

She is also the author of the best-selling Talk Dirty Yiddish and editor of the soon-to-be-released Recipe By the Book: Oak Tree Authors Cook! Her short story "Miami Snow" and flash fiction "Perfect" both won 1st place in their category's at the 2014 Public Safety Writers Association conference. She will soon be publishing the nonfiction Why Nine Candles for Chanukah? Answers to Questions you Never Thought to Ask.
